  • A fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled marketing and communications professional to be part of StartSpace, a new venture supporting Victoria’s early stage entrepreneurs at the very beginning of their business journey. As part of a dedicated team, you will lead the development and execution of the StartSpace brand.

StartSpace, an initiative of State Library Victoria under the Library’s Creative Enterprise portfolio, is a new business support service for emerging entrepreneurs, providing the tools, resources, events, space and community support that builds their skills and backs their new business ideas.

About the role:

StartSpace is now seeking a Marketing and Communications Advisor to lead the development and execution of a mission-critical strategy to  support the Library’s goals for engaging with new and emerging entrepreneurs in Victoria and develop the StartSpace brand.

Under the guidance of the Creative Enterprise Portfolio Lead and working closely with the cross-disciplinary Creative Enterprise & StartSpace team, and the Library’s Brand & Audience Development team, the Marketing and Communications Advisor will drive member acquisition, raise the profile of StartSpace as a place to seek support for developing business ideas, and produce content to support new business owners on their journey.

The role is accountable for:

  • Developing and implementing an integrated, strategic marketing and communications program to support StartSpace business objectives
  • Creating and telling the StartSpace story to position our brand with stakeholders and the Victorian community starting out on a new business venture
  • Delivering projects and materials on time, to agreed scope in conjunction with internal stakeholders, project teams and external providers
  • Supporting a positive, inclusive and approachable StartSpace membership culture, using internal communications strategies and relationship management techniques

The Marketing and Communications Advisor will have strong marketing skills, social media community management experience and be able to produce high-quality, audience-led content for multiple channels. They will have some understanding of the Victorian business and economic ecosystem, and have good stakeholder and project management skills.
