About LaunchVic:

LaunchVic is Victoria’s startup agency. We were established by the Victorian Government in March 2016 as an independent agency responsible for growing the State’s startup ecosystem to strengthen our economy and create the jobs of the future.

Through our work we are driving improvements in the startup investment landscape; developing the angel investor and early-stage venture capital market in Victoria; supporting programs that build founder, investor, and talent capabilities; and increasing understanding and awareness of Victoria’s startup ecosystem.

About the Role:

This newly created role in the Operations Team will be responsible for supporting a program of work to activate and improve the quantity and quality of both early and late stage start-ups across Victoria. The programs include but are not limited to developing toolkits, office hours and a dedicated program for scaleups.

You will support the GM Startups to coordinate the program deliverables, with a core focus on the administrative coordination of initiatives, whilst also contributing to all areas of program delivery such as: events, stakeholder engagement, content development, research and more.

Working closely with colleagues across the LaunchVic team as well as with stakeholders, you will support the delivery of programs that will increase stakeholder participation and collaboration in the ecosystem.

This exciting new role is suited to someone with a passion for the startup ecosystem in Victoria, has a customer service mindset and brilliant attention to detail. Community and project management experience is a bonus, but most important is a ‘can do’ attitude, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done, no matter how big or small.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the GM Startups to execute on the delivery of key strategic programs that drive impact for founders with a north star focus on increasing Victoria’s startup density;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships including with early-stage startups,  and partners that work with these startups;
  • Support the GM Startups to maintain relationships with key government departments;
  • Support events coordination ensuring successful delivery of engaging and relevant events;
  • Manage online and digital resources that LaunchVic might develop for founders;
  • Coordinate office hours with our mentors and founders;
  • Provide coordination on all relevant administrative activities related to the programs, including receiving enquiries from founders, developing target lists of participant startups and keeping accurate and timely CRM records;
  • Supporting the monitoring of any third-party service providers;
  • Be a voice within the team for early-stage founders, such as identifying case study opportunities with the Marketing and Communications team;
  • Support other LaunchVic activities, including attending and helping at other LaunchVic events; and
  • Contribute and collate reports, dashboards, data analysis, briefing notes and government reporting on program design and execution;

 

Skills and Experience:

Mandatory 

  • Excellent time management and planning skills;
  • Outstanding communication skills;
  • Extremely well organised with attention to detail;
  • Drive, initiative, and the ability to identify problems and work together with the team to come up with solutions
  • A customer service mindset;
  • Experience or interest in long term relationship building and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.; and
  • An understanding of and a strong interest in Innovation and/or the Victorian startup sector.

Desirable

  • Experience working as a community manager either professionally or as a hobby.
  • Experience in event, project or program co-ordination;
  • Experience working with CRM software (Salesforce);
  • Startup sector experience either as a founder or a supporter of the ecosystem.
