Startup Success Series: Nailing Your Pitch
Lots of effort and time goes into nailing your pitch as a founder – it’s one of the most important skills you’ll need to ensure your startup is on the pathway to success.
Whether you’re applying for an accelerator, pitching to investors, prospective employees or taking the stage at one of Startup Vic’s marquee Pitch Nights, you need to be able to tell your audience about the virtues of your startup, your team and your product/service, usually within a rather short timeframe! So how do you do it well?
There’s a lot more to nailing your pitch than being able to speak about your startup (although this is pretty important!) – you need a well-produced pitch deck, strong talking points and to be ready to field hard questions after you finish. But how do you know what to focus on? How do you tailor your pitch to the people you’re pitching to?
We’ll be taking you through exactly this and more for this week’s Startup Success Series. We’ll be joined by founders who have pitched successfully to a range of audiences (including our own Pitch Nights) to take you through the do’s and don’ts of nailing your pitch.
Here’s what we’ll cover:
- What to include your pitch
- How to pitch to a specific audience
- What to include in a pitch deck
- How to use the unique nature of your startup to craft a unique pitch
- Much more!
