Clipboard Hospitality- Learning to pivot

Clipboard Hospitality- Learning to pivot

Like most startups, COVID 19 has been a challenging time. 2020 was the year the Clipboard was launching into a new realm. After significant growth in 2019, our business model was taking into full effect at the beginning of 2020 and we have prepared for what we believed was going to be a triumphant year. Then COVID 19 occurred and we had to quickly pivot our model and solution to our market.

At first this was a daunting experience, our main solution has been depleted as the market no longer requires it. Well safe to say we have survived that experience. However, once the dust settled with the first reaction to COVID 19, we realised there was a world of opportunities to grab a hold of. We were able to “think outside the box” so to speak and realised that Clipboard had so much more to offer our community. Our technical scope and creativity flourished and we were able to continue with our growth. Like most businesses revenue has been a challenge, however,  our onboarding, brand equity and credibility have all risen. And this is leading to new relationships and collaboration. Projects such as:

  1. Clip code- A unique QR code for hospitality businesses to safely and securely capture clients data (required by governments)
  2. Culinary Games- An industry-specific cooking series designed to help those businesses who have lost so much in COVID 19 while boosting the industry’s identity.
  3. Hospo Heroes in which we celebrate the people in our industry who have been supporting one another and have set up great initiatives for the community to survive

COVID 19 has been challenging, dark, and uncertain. But it has also allowed us to think differently, trust in our ability and create some amazing solutions for our clients and the community. Now the future looks positive and we can see our survival at the end of the pandemic.
