WorkSafe, the Department of Transport and the Department of Premier and Cabinet are looking to early-stage startups to solve public sector challenges. 

CivVic Labs is a challenge-based accelerator program for startups and founders looking to secure a government customer but unsure how to navigate the government procurement process.

Over 3 months, you’ll work directly with a potential customer on an MVP with the opportunity to secure a $150k government contract at the end.

The challenges

  • The Department of Premier and Cabinet is seeking to make cybersecurity easier and more relevant to Victorian Public Sector employees to reduce risk to Victorians.Help a passionate team bust through the bureaucratic process to make a meaningful impact on cyber security literacy and resilience.
  • WorkSafe is interested in exploring how emerging technology can help to prevent workplace injuries, including physical and mental injuries.With 24 lives lost at work in Victoria in 2017-2018 and many others affected by avoidable injuries, this is an opportunity for startups to help shape how WorkSafe manage health and safety in the future.
  • Department of Transport is looking to Victoria’s startup community for new ways to understand and enhance user safety, mobility and satisfaction with the state’s transport network.
    They are particularly interested in ensuring the system is responsive to the personal safety needs of women and girls.
