A fast track to success for Entrepreneurs in the North.

From protein bars made from cricket powder to socially ethical AI solutions, ten ambitious entrepreneurs will be able to fast track their small businesses success thanks to the Converger Mentoring Program. The program is part of Converger Moreland, a free program of workshops, masterclasses, mentoring and meetups to help startups and budding entrepreneurs rapidly reach their potential running. LaunchVic, Victoria’s startup agency, is supporting Business Moreland to partner with local coworking and makerspaces to support entrepreneurs to develop and drive their business ideas through Moreland Converger.

The Converger Mentoring Program has seen small business Founders complete a 2-day design thinking workshop put together by G2 Innovations as a deep dive into the requirements for business success. The design thinking workshop was a great conduit to the mentoring program, guiding business Founders to pay close attention to how they can provide even greater value to their customers whilst in parallel looking at what problems their businesses are facing now or could face in the future. Ten Founders went on to receive one-on-one mentoring from experienced professionals from relevant industries who share their skills, experience, knowledge and/or networks to support the program participants.

Having worked with many startups, Converger Mentoring Program Manager, Anna Figueiredo, knows the value of advisors and mentors in helping entrepreneurs steer a successful course and to help fill knowledge or skill set gaps. Mentors help connect entrepreneurs to the people and networks that mentees need to accelerate the growth of their business. For the mentor, mentoring is also a great way to build a relationship with an entrepreneur, inspire people, and play a part in the growth of their business and skills development.

It is notable that many of the businesses in this program have sustainability at their core. Given the business imperative for global sustainability, these small businesses have the power of shaping the culture of sustainable solutions in the market that established businesses will have to adapt to!
